BMW E34 M5 UK Limited Edition

To celebrate the end of production of the E34 M5, the BMW from Great Britain demanded that the last 50 right-hand drive vehicles of the model be made with BMW Individual paint and interior. Although this special series was originally supposed to be called the “Steve Soper Edition” (after the legendary BMW racing driver), the idea was abandoned at the last minute and the cars became known simply as the “E34 M5 UK Limited Edition”.

All 50 copies were made between March and June 1995 in one of two unique colors and decorations: Rosso Red Metallic (369) with a champagne nappa leather interior and natural wood paneling (15 built) or Orinoco Metallic (406) with a two-tone interior made of nappa leather in petrol + mint and a decorative strip made of graphite bird’s eye maple wood (35 pieces). All were equipped with a storage net in the passenger’s footwell and a special wooden gear knob + parking brake handle as well as a uniquely numbered badge on the center console. With the exception of the Servotronic power steering assistant (only five copies), all 50 vehicles were equipped identically with the following options: three-spoke steering wheel (airbag), shadowline outer paneling, green-tinted wind protection strips, electric sunroof, auto-dimming interior mirrors, headlight washers, electric front seats and air conditioning.

BMW E34 M5 Touring “Elekta” Edition

At the request of several Italian BMW dealers, BMW Individual created a special edition called “Elekta” to commemorate the last 20 examples of the E34 M5 Touring made for the Italian market. There were two unique color schemes available (10 copies in each variant): Sterling Silver Metallic (244) with a marine blue nappa leather interior and matching carpeting or British Racing Green (312) with a Hazlenut nappa leather interior and Mexico Green carpeting. Both models included expanded leather on the center console, door handles and glove box flap, as well as a black leather dashboard and black leather tops. (The leather A-pillar trim, the leather sun visor and the Alcantara headliner, which are normally attached to the E34 M5 with the complete nappa leather interior, were not included.) In addition to a storage net in the passenger-side footwell (only with BMW individual Vehicles), all of the Elekta Edition models were equipped with the following features from the normal option list: three-spoke steering wheel (airbag), shadowline exterior paneling, roof rails, double sunroof, electric front seats with driver’s memory, automatically dimming interior mirror, radio remote control, hi-fi Loudspeaker system, headlight washing system and automatic air conditioning with automatic air circulation. Some copies were also equipped with a special metal gear knob insert with the inscription “Elekta” and each unique vehicle number in the edition of 20.
