What is it actually
BMW E36 M3 GT EVO Individual?
The BMW E§6 M3 GT EVO Individual was exclusively manufactured by BMW from November / December 1998 in an edition of 50 vehicles, which were intended exclusively for the British market.
The vehicle was only available in the color “Imola Red” and with seat upholstery in Alcantara Anthracite with seat covers in leather, also in Imola Red.
One vehicle, the vehicle with the number 13/50 with the chassis number EA90890, was completely dismantled by BMW in England and repainted in silver at the request of the buyer.
All vehicles also had power rear vent windows, power sunroof, passenger airbag, side airbags, power seats and a Harman Kardon sound system.
The aerodynamics package also included the CLASS 2 front splitter and the rear spoiler of the M3 GT, but with an integrated third brake light.
However, the aluminum rims were not polished motorsport forged rims, as with the M3 GT or the M3 GT Individual, but the light alloy wheel “M double spoke polished Styling 24” with the dimensions front axle 7 ½ X 17 ET 41, BMW part number: 36 11 2 227 850 and rear axle 8 ½ X 17 ET 41, BMW part number: 36 11 2 227 860.
In addition, the vehicle also received the 3.2 liter S50B32 with 321 hp. All 50 vehicles were delivered with a manual six-speed gearbox.
A very interesting vehicle is the BMW E36 M3, VIN EA90650, which was originally highly specialized (converted) to a standard by BMW UK to test the planned special edition Evo Individual. This vehicle also has an SMGI gearbox. This vehicle was last offered for sale by Munich Legends in November 2008.
BMW E36 M3 GT EVO INdividual Prospekt
Since March 2009 the car has been owned by a BMWCC member in the UK who has done some research on its history. BMW customer service in the UK said:
“This car was originally ordered by BMW UK to see if the interior and exterior colors would suit the model and the potential select demographic of buyers – and so eventually the Individual Edition series was also offered in the UK. After further research, it was also confirmed that this was actually the car used and thus the press vehicle that was actually used by BMW for the sales brochure.
See letter from BMW UK Service.
The current owner says:
“I would guess that the car was used for the Evo Individual promotional shoot as BMW ordered the car with an Individual specification; moreover, the car had no power seats, no airbags, no HK, but it did have Alacantara armrests, a GSM phone kit, headlight washers and of course the SMG. The GSM antenna can be seen in the large photo (dealer prospectus) together with the head washer. Although BMW has no record of which car was actually used, I would bet money on it being the car.”
