BMW E36 318TI Compact Clubsport Edition
Almost nothing is known about this vehicle, the BMW E36 318TI Compact Clubsport Edition. There is hardly any information about this limited vehicle. 200 exhibits were produced as a homologation series for the BMW M Racing 318TI Clubsport series by BMW in 1994/1995. But why these vehicles were then exclusively delivered to the USA and only offered there is not known.
These vehicles were imported by BMW North America INC. Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, 07675, i.e. by BMW AG or its subsidiaries themselves.
We only know one club sport. In America there was also an individual series for the Compact called “Club Sport”.
Exclusively available for the Compact with M42B18 as a sporty entry-level model from the BMW brand on the US market. Fully equipped with M-Technic sports package, M-chassis, 16 ” M-double-spoke styling rims (styling 18) with 225/50 VR16 tires, two-tone sports seats, M-Technic steering wheel and gear knob.
This special model vehicle was not manufactured by BMW AG, but by its subsidiary, BMW M GmbH and BMW Individual GmbH.
Only available in light red (314) and black II (668). The sports seats were upholstered in Montana leather and Millpoint fabric in the respective contrasting color and stitching.
The only thing that these vehicles still had was an embossed plate with the serial number of the vehicle, which was attached to the glove compartment, which unfortunately was already missing on the vehicle shown above.
The M mirrors of the E36 M 3, like the hi-fi audio system, the electric sliding roof and a locked differential, could still be ordered.
Only 200 units of this vehicle were produced, 94 of them in light red (314) and 106 in black II (668).
